Peter Cetera's solo inaugural opens with the outstanding Livin' in the limelight, a surprisingly great churner with a chugging riff, smoking breaks, and crisp lyrics. This delectable leadoff dandy even lit up a few rock radio dials at the beginning of the '80s. But of course, this class cut didn't hit the top of the charts like Cetera's gossamer ballads with Chicago. So he returned to his old, tired ways and again ascended to number one. But for a flash, Peter Cetera did it all for the glory of rock. (Doug Stone)
